Mandurah’s Music in the Burbs series kicks off this month.
The series of free events offers afternoons of live music and fun activities in suburban parks.
Musician Alex Wayne and the Crackalackin Duo will get people moving at the first event at Greenhouse Park in Mandurah on October 19, with Darren Guthrie and duo Lana and Alex entertaining the crowd at Seascapes Pirate Park in Halls Head on October 26.
Residents can catch performances by Zac Linton, Danny Bau and John Read at Watersun Reserve in Silver Sands on November 2, Ashley Reale and New York Slim plus Nate Lansdell at Village Beach in Wannanup on November 9, and the Ricky Morris Duo and Blood & Grace will play at the final event at Quarry Park in Meadow Springs on November 16.
All events run from 3pm to 6pm and feature family-friendly activities, including mini golf, giants garden games and nature play areas for children.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic or support local community groups by buying a sausage sizzle, coffee or ice cream on-site.
Mayor Rhys Williams said Music in the Burbs was the “perfect chance for people to join their neighbours and celebrate Mandurah’s beautiful local places and spaces”.
“We are lucky to have so many great spots in our city for people to come together, enjoy each other’s company and build connections within their communities,” he said.
“I encourage everyone to bring their family and friends for an afternoon of outdoor fun, music and activities, and a big thanks to our community groups for helping us to put these events on.”
