Major change to well-loved Cottesloe store after 22 years

A big change has arrived at the beloved Cottesloe General Store.

The store posted “same spot, new chapter” on Sunday to their Instagram story after Lynda — recent co-owner with Simon — revealed the details two weeks prior.

The treasured Cottesloe local shared the store and cafe is changing owners after more than two decades under the pair.

“I’m feeling a little bit sad to tell everyone that we have sold the Cottesloe General Store after 22 years,” she said in an Instagram reel.

Lynda’s voice shook as she expressed the huge emotional toll of the changeover.

“I have not stopped crying all week,” she said with a shaky voice.

Lynda reassured followers she will still be doing her well-loved Cottesloe morning reports on a different Instagram account and they can “see the adventures and whatever else we decide to do”.

She revealed a long retirement could be on the cards or something entirely different before thanking the Perth community for their support.

“You have all been incredibly amazing to us,” Lynda said.

“All of our customers are so wonderful.

“Thank you to everyone.”
